DAY 00: DEPARTURE FROM YOUR PLACE

You will depart from your home to Vietnam depending on your flight and departure point. 

 

DAY 01: HANOI – ARRIVAL (D)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, our guide with driver and car welcome you then pick you up. Proceed to hotel for checking in and relax.

Lunch is on your own account. Dinner is served at local restaurant with local food.

DAY 02: HANOI – FULL DAY CITY TOUR (B, L)

Breakfast at hotel.

After breakfast, our guide and driver with car will pick you up after transfer you to a full day city tour.

You will go to the historical complex of Ba Dinh Square, where Ho Chi Minh announced the independence of Vietnam on September 02, 1945. Take pictures of outside of the President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum then walk inside to stand in queue for a visit to the Mausoleum (close on every Monday & Friday and the period of September 03 – October 31 for maintenance).

Visit the President Ho Chi Minh’s House and Garden, Ho Chi Minh Museum (if it is available) and the outside of the Presidential Palace, where the heads of states and countries are received (it is closed to public).

Continue to visit One Pillar Pagoda. Then leave for other attractions of Hanoi.

Visit the Ethnological Museum, Temple of Literature, Quan Thanh temple and Tran Quoc pagoda.

Finally visit Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son temple and walk in the ancient quarter of Hanoi and take a one-hour cyclo or cart drive through the streets of the ancient quarter followed by the traditional puppet show at the theatre.

Lunch is served at local restaurant. Dinner is on your own account to explore the city.

DAY 03: HANOI - HALONG (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel. 

After breakfast, our guide with driver and car will pick you up. You will start the journey to Halong by road through the rich farmlands of Red River Delta.

On the way, you will have a short stop outside of Hanoi urban to visit Bat Trang traditional pottery village.

Take a break en route at a special handicraft workshop runs for and by handicapped children. You will also have a chance to see skillful products made by those people.

Enjoy a cup of tea, try the local sweets, walk around or just relax to stretch your legs.

Continue driving to Halong. Upon arrival at a wharf in Halong at around 12:30~13:00, a staff member from the boat will greet and instruct you to get aboard.

Take a brief introduction to the ship and regulation for safety. Check into your cabin.

Lunch is served with fresh seafood while the boat starts cruising into majestic Halong bay, the World Natural Heritage recognized by UNESCO, to see the amazing karts with different formations such as Duck islet, Dog islet, Sail islet, etc. 

After lunch, you will visit the Pearl village on the bay.

Continue cruising to Titop Island. You can relax, swim or climb up to the peak of the mountain for enjoying the panorama view of Halong Bay and taking pictures before cruise to a quiet firth.

At about 17:00 ~ 18:00: You can kayak or attend the cooking class (it depends on the actual situation) and watch the sunset over the bay.

In the late afternoon, 18:00~18:30, the boat cruise to the tranquil zone for overnight. 

Dinner is served on board with delicious seafood. 

After dinner, it is leisure time for film entertainment in the dining room or relaxing in your cabin or sundeck.

From 21:00, you can join the squid fishing with the crew members and the others.

DAY 04: HA LONG BAY – BAI TU LONG BAY OR LAN HA BAY (B, L, D)

Early risers can enjoy a morning view of Bay’s landscapes with a light breakfast served: a cup of tea, coffee, cookies, snacks, fresh fruits. Sitting on the upper deck, enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the rocky Islands rising from the crystal-clear waters. The quiet is almost eerie; you can hear birds singing, cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against the boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze.

Buffet style breakfast is served. Transfer by tender to visit one of the most beautiful caves on Halong Bay “Amazing Cave”. Walk up 100 steps to the entrance of the cave to have a walking tour in the cave (approximated 60 minutes).

Go back to the main vessel for the cruise on the most wonderful route passing the Halong Bay’s more secluded and untouched locales: Fighting Cocks Island, Screen Mountain, Man’s Head Island and Tortoise Island.

The junk continues cruising to the majestic Bai Tu Long Bay, the new area with authentic landscapes and less tourists. You will have a chance to admire the landscapes of the bay.

Do Kayaking to visit one of the most wonderful floating villages in the world with local houses, fishing farm, school. 

Continue to the beach for relaxing or kayaking or swimming in the emerald water of the bay.

Enjoy the magnificent sun set over the bay. Then return to the overnight vessel in the late afternoon. You can join the cooking class on board, if it’s available.

Lunch and dinner are served on board

After dinner, it is leisure time for film entertainment in the dining room or relaxing in your cabin or sundeck.

From 21:00, you can join the squid fishing with the crew members and the others.

DAY 05: HALONG – BUT THAP – HANOI (B, BRUNCH, D)

Early risers can enjoy a morning view of Bay’s landscape with a light breakfast served: a cup of tea, coffee, cookies, snacks, fresh fruit. Sitting on the upper deck, enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal –clear waters. The quiet is almost eerie; you can hear birds singing, cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against the boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze.

You can also enjoy a morning swim in the fresh water of the bay. Then, return to the overnight vessel for the breakfast served.

The junk cruises back to Ha Long Bay. Check out your cabins and stay in the restaurant to relax or join cooking class / demonstration for famous Vietnamese food, if cooking course / demonstration wasn’t available on the previous days – it’s the time now. 

At 10:00, boat starts cruising back to Halong city and BRUNCH is served including the dishes you have just made.

After Brunch time, boat check out procedure while the boat arrives at the harbor at about 11:45~12:00.

Our driver with car are ready, waiting for you. Get on car and transfer back to Hanoi.

On the way, return to visit But Thap pagoda, which was built in the 17th century, during the late Le dynasty by the monk Zhus Zhus (regarded as the founder of the pagoda) and Queen Trinh Thi Ngoc Truc, a daughter of Lord Trinh Trang. In the Nei Kung Wai Kwo architectural style, But Thap pagoda has the shape of the Chinese script Kung inside and the script Kwo outside. It features more than 100 compartments and 10 buildings spread over 100 meters from the three-entrance gates to the bell-tower and back house. There are 2 towers outside and more than 50 statues inside in different sizes and the most remarkable is “thousand-hands, thousand-eyes” Goddess of mercy (Guanyin in Chinese) made in 1656 and took several years for completion.

DAY 06: HANOI – HUE (B, D)

Breakfast at hotel.

After breakfast, our guide with driver and car pick you up and you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Hue city – the former capital of Vietnam during more than 100 years which is the World Cultural Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO. Upon arrival in Hue, our local guide with driver and car welcome, pick up and transfer you to hotel for checking in.

After relax time, you will proceed by car with guide and driver to visit the Former Forbidden city (Imperial Citadel), the King’s tombs followed by a visit to Dong Ba market – one of the most famous markets in Vietnam and Hue.

Lunch is on your own account. Dinner is served at local restaurant with Royal style.

DAY 07: HUE – DANANG – HOI AN (B, D)

AM: After breakfast at hotel, guide and driver with car pick you up at hotel lobby to bring you to the pier. Taking a boat trip on the romantically Perfume River to visit Hue’s best-known religious site: Thien Mu pagoda, one of the symbols of Hue.

Then, transfer by road to visit another King’s tomb of Hue.

Proceed to Hoi An via Lang Co fishing village, Hai Van (Cloud Sea) Pass and Da Nang City. Stop over for taking photo and enjoy the view of the central landscape at Lang Co and on the top of Hai Van Pass.

PM: Stop in Da Nang to visit the Cham Sculptural Museum.

Continue to Hoi An ancient city, the World Cultural Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO. If time and weather permit and you are interested in, you can have a climb up to visit Marble Mountain on the way.

In the late afternoon, arrive in Hoi An, the major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Check in hotel. The rest time of the day is at your leisure to relax or walking around the ancient city.

Lunch is on your own account. Dinner is served at local restaurant.

If it falls on the 14th day in Vietnam lunar calendar today, you are lucky to have a chance to enjoy the “Lanterns light up” night or “Full Moon Festival” in the ancient city.

In the ensuing quiet, the streets of Hoi An are at the most romantic sense and the darkness is broken only by jewel toned lanterns in all manner of shapes and sizes. You will see lots of traditional activities and games organized and you can also join them.

Strolling through the lantern-lit streets is like walking into a fairytale. It is all the more picturesque since motor vehicles are banned from Hoi An's Old Quarter.

DAY 08: HOI AN – MY SON – HOI AN HALF DAY CITY TOUR (B, L)

AM: After breakfast at hotel, our guide and driver with car will pick you up to visit another World Cultural Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO: My Son, the former capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom from the 4th to 14th century AD, one of the most famous Champa architectural and sculptural monuments in Viet Nam.

My Son is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries. The Champa Kingdom, began in AD192 was an important phenomenon in the political and cultural history of Southeast Asia, vividly illustrated by the ruins of My Son. It is perhaps the longest inhabited archaeological site in Indochina but a large majority of its architecture was destroyed by US “carpet bombing” during a single week of the “Vietnam War”. The remains of impressive tower-temples located in a dramatic site in a lush green valley surrounded by high mountains. This location gave My Son strategic significance as an easily defensible stronghold. There are dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 4th and 13 centuries.

The My Son temple complex is regarded one of the foremost Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and often compared with other historical temple complexes in Southeast Asia such as Borobudur of Indonesia, Angkor Wat of Cambodia, Bagan of Myanmar and Ayutthaya of Thailand.

Enjoy a Champa Dance performance at the site if you are on time (except on Monday). Then walk around the area in the forest to visit the ruins of the ancient towers

After around two hours in the forest, you will return to Hoi An ancient city. On the way back, stop over to visit Tra Kieu, formerly known as Simhapura or the Lion Citadel, the capital of Champa between the 4th and 8th centuries.

PM: Take a walking tour of the ancient city center to visit Hoi An / Silk Road Museum, the former merchant’s homer, the over 300 year-old Japanese Style Bridge and the local market, handicraft workshop. Enjoy the folklore music if you are on time (except Sunday).

Lunch is at local restaurant. Dinner is on your own account to explore the ancient city.

DAY 09: HOI AN HALF DAY TOUR (B)

AM: Breakfast at hotel.

You will be guided to the quay for taking a boat trip to visit the traditional villages of Thanh Ha (pottery) and Kim Bong (carpentry).

PM: Free at your leisure,

Lunch and dinner are on your own account to explore more taste of the ancient city.

Overnight at hotel in Hoi An

DAY 10: HOI AN – SAIGON (B, D)

AM: Breakfast at hotel.

You will have a relaxing morning to walking around the town or shopping or just relaxing at the hotel / resort until our guide with driver and car pick you up and transfer to the airport for the flight to Saigon.

PM: Upon arrival in Saigon, officially named by Ho Chi Minh City, our guide with driver and car welcome and pick you up to transfer to hotel.

After a short rest, you will be transferred to visit War Remnant Museum, take the picture of the outside of City Hall, Opera House.

Lunch is on your own account. Dinner is served at local restaurant.

Overnight at hotel in Saigon

DAY 11: SAIGON – TAY NINH – CU CHI – SAIGON (B, D)

AM: After breakfast at hotel, you will take an excursion by road to Tay Ninh to visit the Cao Dai Holysee, centre of the Caodaism Religion which is a syncretistic, monotheistic religion officially established in the city of Tay Ninh, southern Vietnam, in 1926.

“Dao Cao Dai” is the religion's shortened name, the full name is Đại Đạo Tam Kỳ Phổ Độ (Great Religion (of the) Third Period (of) Revelation (and) Salvation). Concerning the term Cao Đài, literally, Cao means “high” and Đài means “dais, as in a platform raised above the surrounding level to give prominence to the person on it”. Figuratively, it means that highest spiritual place where God reigns. According to Caodaiists, the full title was purposefully chosen by God because within it is representations of the Three Teachings: Saint, Sage and Buddha. That is why this religion is a combination of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism.

Attend the Noon Mass, the most important one among 6 times per day to watch the only colorful religion mass in the world.

PM: Leave Tay Ninh, continue transferring to Cu Chi for visiting an amazing complex of underground tunnels used during the American war.

Upon arrival at Cu Chi tunnel area, you will watch a short introduction overall on the underground tunnels and have an opportunity to go underground to see the intricate pattern of tunnels and learn tactics of the revolutionary forces.

Try the local tea with popular foods used to be the main food during the wartime: Cassava (Tapioca), pressed steamed rice and peanut / sesame powder with salt.

After more than 1-2 hours walking in the area, get out for driving back to Saigon.

DAY 12: SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA (VINH LONG) – SAIGON (B, L)

Wake up and have your breakfast at hotel early to prepare for a full day excursion to the Mekong Delta. Our guide with driver and car will pick you up at the hotel for a full day tour.

Drive to visit China Town and Thien Hau pagoda in Saigon before leaving for Vinh Long, escaping from bustling Saigon urban sprawl a province of Mekong Delta.

Mekong River flows into Vietnam with two branches: Upper and Lower rivers. There are twelve provinces and one central government city in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.

Proceed to Cai Be, a small town located at the Upper River bank in Tien Giang province.

Upon arrival at Cai Be, take a boat trip cruising along the Mekong River and follow small canals flowing sluggishly between the two banks of luxuriant vegetation to Cai Be floating market, fruit orchards, a traditional family-run brick kiln. Stopover at an island, walk in the country roads to visit the rice paper – coconut candy – pop rice and corn family-run workshops to see how the process of traditional products and the farmer’s fruit garden or bonsai garden.

Take a trial to steer the local boat in the small canals.

Go back to the boat going through the canals to visit an ancient house of the Delta then continue to Vinh Long town on the other bank of the Upper River.

Get on car. Visit Vinh Long country market if time permits.

Transfer back to Saigon crossing My Thuan Bridge – the first bridge over the Mekong River in Vietnam in 2000 and became one of the most famous bridges in Vietnam in recent years.

Lunch is at a farmer garden with Mekong Delta specialty. Dinner is on your own account.

DAY 13: SAIGON – HALF DAY CITY TOUR (B)

AM: Breakfast at hotel.

Guide with driver and car pick you up for a half day tour to visit the former Presidential Palace and the Central Post Office. Take a photo stop at the Notre Dame Cathedral. Then visit and do shopping in Ben Thanh Market, Le Loi and Dong Khoi Streets.

PM: Free time at leisure for seeking souvenir or relax before packing for next day departure.

Lunch is on your own account. Farewell dinner is served at local restaurant.

DAY 14: SAIGON – DEPARTURE (B)

AM: Free at leisure.

PM: Transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
